Turkmenistan News.Net
Thursday 25th September, 2008

A bomb has exploded in the centre of Rangoon, in Myanmar.

At least six people have been wounded.

The attack was carried out to precede the anniversary of last year's anti-government protests by Buddhist monks and their supporters.

The ruling military junta has become increasingly alert as the anniversary approaches.

During their harsh crackdown last year protests, over 3,000 people who took to the streets were arrested.

More than 100,000 marched against the junta.

It is believed more than 700 of those arrested are still behind bars.
