Plasma plants to remain closed

Japanese electronics maker Panasonic Corp has decided to cut back on investments for flat-screen TV plants.

Two new plants will be closed as Panasonic reduces output capacity amid slumping demand.

Weakening economies around the world have seen slowing demand for flat TVs, with prices plummeting.

Panasonic is the world's largest plasma TV maker.
