Kyrgyzstan's COVID-19 cases exceed 100,000

BISHKEK, May 17 (Xinhua) -- The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Kyrgyzstan has risen to 100,732, as health authorities confirmed 259 more infections on Monday.

The national headquarters for combating COVID-19 also reported 284 new recoveries, raising the total in the country to 93,886.

Eight new deaths were reported over the last 24 hours, bringing the nationwide death toll to 1,711.

Kyrgyzstan started mass vaccination against COVID-19 on March 29. More than 50,000 people have been vaccinated so far.
