PanARMENIAN.Net - Every Armenian in Armenia and the diaspora should take seriously the "Western Azerbaijan" concept promoted by Azerbaijan, former Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanian said during a Facebook livestream.
According to him, the issue concerns a clearly developed Azerbaijani plan, the implementation of which, Oskanian argued, is becoming "more realistic day by day under the current authorities."
Commenting on Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's recent remarks about Syunik, Oskanian expressed the view that "through that wording, the prime minister effectively presented Syunik as a disputed subject."
"Recently, in Syunik itself, Pashinyan made a statement claiming he was defending Syunik and reassuring people that there is no such issue, that Syunik is an inseparable part of Armenia. With that statement, he is effectively admitting that he has failed on this issue as well. By making that statement, he has already turned Syunik into disputed territory. Azerbaijanis are listening too, aren't they?
Would you consider it normal if in Vayots Dzor or Shirak he said that Shirak or Vayots Dzor are inseparable parts of Armenia? Why should such a question even arise in anyone's mind, let alone in the mind of the country's leader? That means he knows very well from negotiations that this issue has also been placed before him," Oskanian said.
The election campaign, which began on May 8, will continue until June 5. June 6 will be observed as a day of silence, while elections will be held on June 7.
