PanARMENIAN.Net - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, speaking at the plenary session of the European Political Community in Yerevan, welcomed the peace established between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
"This is very important. We wish Armenia and Azerbaijan peace, one that will be lasting," he said, according to Radar Armenia.
He added that many countries are present, and it is important that Armenia stands together with all Europeans.
"This is the first visit by a president of Ukraine, demonstrating the scale of our unity, of those who value life," Zelensky stressed.
Before entering the Sports and Concert Complex, he answered several questions but left unanswered a question from an Armenian journalist asking, "Why did you give bombs to Baku to strike us?", Aysor.am reports.
In a Telegram post addressing his visit to Yerevan and participation in the European Political Community summit, Zelensky noted that this is the first visit by a Ukrainian president to Armenia in the past 24 years, Auroranews.am writes.
Zelensky observed that during this period, a new generation has grown up in both Ukraine and Armenia, but despite the long pause, the visit itself carries political significance.
He also emphasized that his arrival in Yerevan took place within the framework of the European Political Community summit, attended by numerous international and European leaders. According to Zelensky, this increases the weight of the event by creating an additional platform for international dialogue.
On May 4, Yerevan hosted the 8th summit of the European Political Community, to be followed on May 5 by the first Armenia-European Union summit. Around 50 high-level delegations arrived in Armenia, including European Council President Antonio Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. French President Emmanuel Macron also arrived in Yerevan, while Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited Armenia for the first time.
